What is ECO-CERT? 
ECO-CERT is an internationally recongnized organic certification that guarantees the genuine practice of environmental respect throughout the formulation and manufacturing of a product.
What Does ECO-CERT consider to be organic?
ECO-CERT is considered to be the most important organization in Europe in setting the criteria in natural and organic cosmetics - their criteria for organic is as follows:
- A minimum of 10% of the product must be CERTIFIED organic.
- At LEAST 95% of the product must be of plant/vegetable origin: and
- While the product may contain up to 5% synthetic ingredients- NONE OF THESE MUST BE INCLUDED FROM THE NEGATIVE LIST of harmful ingredients.
ECO-CERT Negative List Includes:
- mineral oil & silicon
- synthetic emulsifiers like PEG ( polyethyelene glycol )
- viscosity controlling agents like carbomer
- perservatives such as formaldehyde releasers, parabens or phenoxyethanol
- synthetic perfumes
- synthetic dyes
- synthetic solvents like propylene glycol
WHAT IS BIO-SUISSE? 
BIO-SUISSE is the umbrella association of more than 30 organic farming organizations and about 6300 farms engaging in organic production in Switzerland ( includes 42 farms in Lichtenstein ) The BIO-SUISSE quality seal is by far the most important seal for organic products in Switzerland, and BIO-SUISSE requirments are far stricter than even those of the European Union.
